According to CBSSports.com, the Mariners have signed lefty Arthur Rhodes to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training. Arthur Rhodes got the same deal about this time last year, but suffered an elbow injury after making the Mariners' 25 man roster and needing ligament replacement surgery. Hopefully this time around Author Rhodes could return to his old, old form.
The Mariners also resigned George Sherrill to a one year contract worth $980K, and he can earn another $60K in incentives. I forgot to mention Rhodes in my bullpen projection for 2008, but he should be looking for a relief job come Spring Training. Hat tip to the fine folks at Baseball Rumors and News.
