The Mariners lost more then a heartbreaker in the ninth, after learning that JJ Putz will be out for a while. The Mariners are now 1-1 for the season.

• King Felix made his debut pitching 7 scoreless innings, while striking out 3, and issueing 3 BB. He gave up 5 hits en route to a no-decision.
• Eric O'Flaherty didn't fare so nicely, giving up two runs on three hits in 0.2 IP.JJ Putz blew his first save of the season and took the loss after giving up a two-run homer to Josh Hamilton in the ninth inning.
• Yuniesky Betancourt scored on a wild pitch in the eighth to give the Mariners a 4-3 lead that they would lose.
• Ichiro went 3-5 with an RBI and a SB. He also walked once. His season average is now up to .375, if that makes a difference two games in.
• Raul Ibanez and Jose Lopez were both o-fers.
• Yuni went 4-5 with an RBI, and that lead taking run.
• Richie Sexson went 1-5 and struck out three times. He left 5 men on base.
• Kenji Johjima went 2-5 with an RBI.
• Carlos Silva is set to take the hill for the Mariners today in the rubber match of the series.
